Namaste is what every yoga instructor says at the end of every yoga class. It means, "the divine in me bows to the divine in you." I love this. I have been getting so passionate about my yoga I had to blog about it and share the goodness. Here is a picture of Christy Turlington in a yoga pose! Looks painful right? I think she was loving life in the moment of this picture. When I was in college I went to my first yoga class. I went very inconsistent for a few months. Didn't think much of it, and thought it was more of a fashionable workout more then anything. I was so wrong!
Yoga recently has been all around me. I had some work friends that were into yoga. Then I noticed a girl in my church life group was looking really slim and happy. I asked her about her regime. She said she always felt like she bulked up with going to the gym, but once she threw in a one or two hour session of yoga in her week, she noticed her body not bulking up, but stretching out. She said she felt better and was more flexible, making her to be less likely to have an athletic injury. I thought I would give is a shot. After a few harsh yoga session of striving to get my body back in flexible mode, I started seeing results and feeling amazing. At first my body was not used to the poses and being in uncomfortable positions. I would shake through the whole session because my body was so not used to going into certain positions. It was nervous that there was something wrong with me! I even went to my instructor and asked about my shaking. She said that I was normal!
Yoga is something everyone can do. My friend google this 83 year old Australia lady that practices all the time! This lady looks banging hot! And she isn't some circus freak, she is some normal grandma who is in really good shape. Crazy as it may seem, but we are all capable of doing this. There are so many benefits besides just becoming "less bulky"! Some have claim that this distressing exercise can heal your body of all the crap in it!! As weird as it sounds, I believe this! This exercise impels you to do things you never thought you were capable of doing! It's about strength and endurance! Breathing out the stress in your life and focusing on the good. Your relaxing through a journey were you are stretching out all the bad toxins in your body! Of course you are doing your body of favor!
I think yoga is in my life for good! Just so you know! It's not some fad for me 'cause Madonna was doing it, I sincerely love it and notice a difference!! I am yoga for life!!
