This weekend was great. The parental's and bestie were in town visiting and celebrating my b-day!! It was low key and super relaxing. Non the less, I was super tired the rest of today's afternoon, lounging around until I forced myself to the gym to get them endorphins up. I came home to clean, and set up some art supplies for some creative time in front of the TV. I ended up watching a surf film that happened to be in the DVD player. It ended up being the perfect background music and creative muse for the night. I ended up feeling really inspired once again to travel. I am so HUNGRY to see the world right now. It's time. I am single and free. This is a dream that must be done! Until the time comes for me to venture out on this quest, I will share the trailer with you of this eloquent film.
It's was actually released in 2009, but I went on the website and this is what appeared....love it:
"Travel keeps you young. It does this by simply putting you in situations that make you feel like a child again. Magically lost in a moment of discovery. Beautifully confused. It could be the first time you awaken to the 5:00 a.m. call to prayer from the local mosque on Morocco's far atlantic shore, the first time you feel the weight of the Egyptian sun on your shoulders, the first time you paddle out over the shallow reefs of the Caribbean, or the first time you realize that people living in squalor can achieve happiness as easily as those living in mansions. These are life's opportunities to shed the hustle of modernity, to join the moment, and stop sprinting toward some prefabricated goal. Your heart races. Your metabolism shifts into lower dear. Everything is new again. You're Sippping Jetstreams."

FL pics- 1st batch
What a trip!! I had such a great time. I never thought I would love FLORIDA that much. Well...of course not eh humidity! But gosh...I sure love those nice clear blue oceans! I started my trip in Fort Lauderdale biking around and lounging on the beaches. My girl Coco has lived there for about 2 years. We have known eachother since we were 14. We met on the HS volleyball team! I first was planning on doing my Europe trip this spring. It fell through and I decided to use up my Vacation time visiting Coco. Everything mostly works out of a reason, at least I would like to think so! I am glad that I ended up on the east coast. These pics are some the endless photo shoot. More to come!!

time flies
I have been looking into deleting my myspace. I find that there are too many portals of technology in my life and it could be a waste. I started looking at the archives of pictures and notes and I have posted over than past 5 or 6 years that I have had an account on there. I think half of the pictures have been lost on my old computer, so I really need to copy everything before deleting it. I came across this blog that I written on March 6, 2006. It's funny because I feel like the expressions of my heart are still the same in present day. Please read what I wrote:
"A lot of today was spent in silence. Most of the time my mouth is open with a plethora of words coming out, but today.... there was mostly silence. I pondered a lot about time, my future and all that crap that freaks you out if you think about it too much. But how can you not think about it? My future sits on a time line in front of me sometimes staring at me asking me.... what are you going to do Marissa? Today, I so vividly remember memories of last year and the year before that. I suddenly got a little emotional as I thought about how fast my youth is flying by. There is so much happening right now in this journey of mine. I want to take every moment, whether it's a good or bad situation and pull something out of it. I want to pull a lesson from it and learn. I decided if I had a wish like King Solomon, I would ask for Wisdom too. Wisdom is so crucial in the thread that fabricates our life's decisions.
I went down to the beach tonight and watched the sunset. I often struggle with the concept of God being near me or even living in me. I get so flustered up with the world and living in it. I sometimes forget to dream. It's so important to dream and live those dreams. And more importantly, we need to glorify God in the midst of our dreams. I have this one life on this one earth. And time flies. I found myself remembering C.S. Lewis's words. Most of the time I don't read his stuff. It's to complex for me, but tonight I did. He convicts me to know my God better. I thought I would share some of what he said:
"He has infinite attention to spar for each one of us. He does not have to deal with us in the mass. You are as much alone with Him as if you were the only being He had ever created. When Christ died, He died for you individually just as much as if you had been the only man in the world." - Mere Christianity"

Key West.....
I am so excited to blog about my amazing trip to Florida! I never thought I would love Florida, but I sure do now!! I have plenty of great photos from me and Nicole's whimsical photo shoot! So stay tune as there will be much more blogging on my trip. But I wanted to start with my two favorite houses on the Key West Island. Me and Nicole rented vintage scooters for the two days that we were there and I snapped these two houses before my camera died. I love them!! If it weren't really humid and hurricane insane there, I think might just plop right down in the southern most part of the U.S.!

....4th Annual Dairy Trip
For the past 4 years I have had the pleasure of taking my friends and I to the Central Valley to visit the farm that I grew up on and where my parents still live. It was a hoot this year. We went to the Clovis Rodeo and Lake Kaweah on my cousin's make-shift pirate ship. Such a hoot and a halla. Here are some of the pics!!
