vendors
Here is a pic of me at work today. Everyday I talk to multiples of people (vendors) over seas in primarily China and India through e-mail. I also send pictures of swatches and projects I am working on for development purposes. I decided today I would send my vendors a picture of me! They need to know what this Marissa chick looks like that they talk to everyday....right? I already got one response back. All it said was, "funny girl."

Michelle Obama's Arms
Seriously......

Every time I see a picture of our first lady I am in awe of her toned arms! Seriously peeps, she has had two kids and she is 44 and she is ripped! I love it and I think it's beautiful!! I ran across this article on CNN about how to get Michelle Obama's toned arms!
I will probably will never be the first lady, but maybe one day I will have Mrs. Obama's arms. What can I say...I dream big :-)

currently listening to.....
I stare at a computer all day long. It's nice to have a soundtrack in the background as I kill my brain cells with technology. One band I never get sick of is "The Most Serene Republic". Another Canadian "Art's & Crafts" indie band. Click here for their myspace! Rumor has it that you can actually download someone of their new songs on their website of their upcoming CD. I posted a few of their songs on my playlist at the bottom of this blog. Enjoy my soundtrack :-)

It's Finally Summer!!!!
Yes...it's true kids! It's finally Summer. I realized it today at lunch. I was crammed in between some of my co-workers in my friend Ashley's big jeep. We went to my favorite hamburger joint, The Counter. Even though I am a vegetarian, they still have bomb veggie burgers! It was one of those days!! Things were going good! The Counter has a special shake every month. Last January they had "Birthday Cake Shake"!!! I loved this shake and named it my favorite shake ever. I even vowed to have it at my wedding someday, far in the future. So even though I know it will not be in the restaurant until next January, I always ask in hopefulness that it will appear. It never does. By the end of my lunch today, my lovely waitress came to me with a surprise. It was my very own "Birthday Cake Shake"!!! She said they went to the store and bought me the ingredients while I was eating my meal just to make me happy!!! OMG!!! I love this place. I was glowing like a little girl riding her pony on her birthday!! AMEN!!
Just thought I would share my happiness....there are still folks in the world that will step out of the way to do something special for you, even if they don't know you. I want to be one of them :-)
So I ran across this post on on of my favorite blogs, habitually chic. I thought these pictures were classic a represent my love for summer. They made me giggle out loud.

design for humanity!
Wednesday night was Billabong's Design for Humanity @ Avalon in Hollywood. It was rad to see all the styles from start to finish! Here are some rad pics from it!! My parents even decided to come out and see the creations!! Age is just a number :-) I loved the local LA band that played first: Iglu & Hartly.
