I was home in California for a few weeks visiting family and friends!

iain's birthday

I arrived in Australia this past Sunday and Iain's birthday was the next day.
We went to Byron Bay down the coast to get some beach and surf action. Here are some cruisy surf photos from Iain's birthday!

Bacardi Rum Pina Colada Cake

Ingredients

Cake:
1 pkg. White cake mix
1 pkg. Instant pudding mis (vanilla or coconut cream)
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/4 oil
1 cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup Bacardi dark rum

Frosting:
1 box of powdered sugar
with a few tablespoons of Milk
*mix together to your own preference of consistency
* (note you can also add some pineapple juice from a can of crushed pineapple for a more fruity taste).

DIRECTIONS:

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
*Grease and flour baking cake dish ( I use a bunt cake dish)
*Blend cake mix (dry) with pudding (dry), then add water, eggs, rum, oil in large mix bowl.
*Bake for 25-30 mins. Cool before putting frosting on.
*After drizzling frosting on cake you make sprinkle some flakey coconut on top.

*****I made this for thanksgiving.... it was straight up good!!! P.S.- these are the actual pictures of my cake that I so domestically made!

I'm FINALLY in Australia mates!! Just arrived on Sunday. I've been getting over my cold and bracing myself for the surprised cold weather here (it's summer and supposed to be hot).
Here is a rad video about surfers in Bondi to welcome the beginning of summer here in Oz. I thought it was pretty sweet!!
I'm safe and sound here. I'm excited to announce that I took a leap and dived into buying some really sweet new canon professional camera equipment that I have set my eyes on for awhile now!! Did a few photo shoots and will be posting them on the blog in the next few days!!

Goodbye Bahamas.... Hello Cali / Oz

Sitting in the Fort Lauderdale airport right now!! On my way back to California and just in time for Thanksgiving!!! I am so excited! Yesterday was my last day on Yacht At Last. It's bittersweet. I love my yachtie life.... but I must follow my heart. I'm headed to Cali for a few weeks to relax and see the people I love most! Then I am off to Australia for a few months. I am hoping for some cold weather in Cali and some hot weather in Oz! I will keep you posted!! xx, Marissa

Rum Cay

Currently on the yacht in route back to Nassau, New Providence. We just had a charter near the Crooked Islands in the south Bahamas. The island was called "Plana Cay". It was beautiful and off the grid. After guest left, we started headed back towards home. We hit about 20-25 ft. waves. It wasn't a fun day to say the least. Thank the lord for motion sickness medicine! We ended up hanging out at a little island called Rum Cay while the waves calmed down. We ended up staying for a few days. It has a population of 74. It's very beautiful. Locals were stoked to see us. They were hit hard by hurricane Irene and haven't had a lot of tourist since. One of the locals asked for food, because they haven't had a food delivery from the mail boat in two weeks. Not only was it nice to give them food and clothing, but we also got to rent the quad's owned by the locals. It was so much fun exploring this island on quads! I will post more pics to come. Here are a few pics I took while walking around the island!

My Fishing Weekend

I saw plenty of fish this weekend in the Bahamas!! I went to the great Atlantis resort and finally snapped some photos of the amazing aquarium they have going on there!! Then went on our yachts intrepid to do some deep sea fishing! After we caught 6 fish for the 6 people on the trip, we found an awesome white sand beach and swam! It was so beautiful!

Peter's Engagement
